Dinner @ 85 Fengshan Food Centre (070313)

A kinda last-minute decided dinner at 85 Fengshan Food Centre with Yanjun. Many Singaporeans would have know of this hawker centre, which is rather well-known in the East. Famous food include, BBQ seafood, Chicken Wings, Bak Chor Mee, Fried Oyster Egg, Sugarcane Juice, Fried Kway Teow, and lots more!

Undergoing about 11 months of renovation, it unveiled its new look at the start of the year. Surprisingly, the layout of the stalls did not change much, unlike Changi Village Hawker Centre, which was given a major refurbishment and the stalls arrangement wasn't like before anymore. Anyway, Yanjun and I decided to visit 85 Fengshan Food Centre at about 4PM, much satisfying my cravings and as a pre-celebration for our 2nd year anniversary.

Yanjun, being the early bird this time round, had to wait for me, and since I was late, I had to source and order the dishes. Moreover, I was a regular patron in the past, considering that it was her first time here.

We started off by ordering the famous Bak Chor Mee (soup) and pork porridge for myself. The taste did not change a single bit, and I am still awed by the taste of the soup with the soft, yet chewy minced meat.

Side dishes include the Fried Oyster, Chicken Wings, and Satay (chicken & pork). Nothing much to be said about, common dishes which can be found in many hawker centres. However, that's not all!

Our last dish for the dinner (boiled cockles) arrived late, while we were already groaning about our full stomachs. Left with quite a number of them behind as we were too full to even out anything into our mouths.

An enjoyable dinner spent at 85 Fengshan Food Centre. Spent about S$11 per pax and it was quite a fill! Oh yes, definitely returning soon!
